We offer a number of rust prevention (rustproofing) treatments. The most popular treatment that we offer is a thorough wax oyl and stone chip combination treatment however we are also able to offer a Dinitrol rust prevention treatment as well. As a rule of thumb we would require the vehicle for 3 days. This allows us to get the vehicle on the ramp for a deep steam clean on the under belly of the car. We remove all mud and grit from the beneath before any rust prevention treatments are applied. The vehicle must then thoroughly dry before the treatment started.
We then cover all areas which do not need to be sprayed before applying the treatment to the underneath of the vehicle and into the chassis. Which treatment we use is down to the customers choice.
Prices vary on the size of the vehicle and treatment being used. Please contact us for a quote.
Rear Crossmember Refurbs
Our experienced technician has been carrying out Land Rover Defender rear crossmember Refurbishments for almost 20 years. All tow hitches, NAS steps etc are removed and then the crossmember is stripped back to metal. At this point if the rear crossmember requires a rust proofing treatment it will be applied here. It is then undercoated a minimum of two times but may be more if necessary.
The crossmember is then coated in a layer of gloss, then sanded (flattened) and then degreased/cleaned. This is then repeated. Finally the crossmember another 2 coats of gloss are applied.
*Please note - Although every attempt is made to ensure the crossmember is finished as smoothly as possible, older vehicles may still have small indents when completed.
Our team are very experienced in vehicle preparation. Established in 2001 Trek Overland have been creating vehicles for all sorts of needs (mainly expedition) for almost 20 years. If you would like more information on how we can help you and your vehicle please contact us.
